COLECTIN APP, S.L.
Last updated · 12 May 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that are downloaded to the User's device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) when accessing certain web pages. These cookies, together with other equivalent local storage technologies (such as LocalStorage, SessionStorage or tracking pixels), allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of the User or their device, and to recognise the User in order to improve their browsing experience and offer personalised content.
Cookies cannot damage your device, and many of them are essential for the proper functioning of the website.
Depending on their nature, cookies may collect different types of information, such as:
- Pages visited.
- Time spent in each section.
- Links clicked.
- Language preferences or technical configuration.
- Form interaction events.
- IP address (anonymised where possible).
The use of cookies is regulated by Law 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (“LSSI-CE”), as well as by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), where such cookies allow the identification of, or make identifiable, the User.
2. What types of cookies are there?
Cookies can be classified into different categories, according to various criteria:
a) Based on the entity that manages them
- First-party cookies: those sent to the User's device from a domain managed by COLECTIN APP, S.L. (https://colectin.com), from which the requested service is provided.
- Third-party cookies: those sent from a domain or device managed by an entity other than COLECTIN APP, S.L., such as analytics tools, customer communication platforms or external services.
b) Based on their purpose
- Technical or necessary cookies: they allow the User to browse the website and use its basic features, such as accessing secure areas, remembering sessions or managing cookie preferences. They do not require consent.
- Personalisation cookies: they make it possible to remember information to personalise the User's experience (language, region, browser type). Consent may be required if they are not strictly necessary.
- Analytics or measurement cookies: they collect statistical and aggregated information about the User's behaviour in order to improve the functioning of the site. Their use requires prior consent.
- Marketing and user communication cookies: they make it possible to identify the User in order to link their behaviour on the website with communication campaigns (for example, email sequences after joining the waiting list). They require express consent.
c) Based on how long they remain active
- Session cookies: they are automatically deleted when the browser is closed or the website is left.
- Persistent cookies: they remain stored on the device for a set period (defined by each cookie) and allow the information to be reused on subsequent visits.
3. Which cookies do we use at Colectin?
The Colectin Website uses first-party and third-party cookies for technical and analytical purposes. The cookies and storage technologies used are detailed below. The list will be updated as new features or tools are enabled:
| Name / Identifier | Type | Ownership | Duration | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| colectin_cookie_consent | Technical (essential) | First-party | 12 months | Stores the User's consent state for the use of cookies. |
| ph_* | Analytics | PostHog Inc. | Up to 12 months | Pseudonymously identifies visitors and records navigation events (pages visited, clicks, form interactions) to understand how the Website is used and improve the experience. |
Note: the specific names of the cookies and local storage identifiers may vary slightly depending on the technical configuration of each tool. The list above reflects the cookies active as of the last update of this policy. The User can review and change their consent in real time through the Cookie Preferences Centre.
COLECTIN APP, S.L. does not use behavioural advertising, retargeting or third-party advertising tracking cookies (such as the Meta pixel, Google Ads or others) on the Website. Lead capture through Meta campaigns is carried out using native Meta Lead Ads forms, which do not involve the installation of cookies on colectin.com.
Should additional analytics or marketing tools be incorporated in the future, this policy will be updated and new consent will be requested where legally required.
4. Who uses the information collected by cookies?
The information collected through the cookies used on the Colectin Website may be processed by:
a) COLECTIN APP, S.L.
As publisher and owner of the Website, COLECTIN APP, S.L. uses first-party cookies to ensure the technical functioning of the page, remember the User's consent preferences and obtain internal metrics on site usage and performance.
b) Authorised external providers
Some cookies, as well as certain data derived from their use, are processed by third parties that provide services to COLECTIN APP, S.L. as data processors, in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR:
- PostHog Inc.: a product analytics tool that allows COLECTIN APP, S.L. to understand how users interact with the Website (events, conversion funnels, aggregated metrics). Privacy policy: https://posthog.com/privacy.
- Customer.io, Inc.: a user communication platform. COLECTIN APP, S.L. uses PostHog as a customer data platform (CDP) to forward certain events to Customer.io, which sends the email communications to those who have joined the waiting list. Customer.io does not install its own cookies on colectin.com as of the date of this policy. Privacy policy: https://customer.io/legal/privacy-policy.
These providers process the data on behalf of COLECTIN APP, S.L. and under its documented instructions, in accordance with data processing agreements and with guarantees of confidentiality, security and purpose limitation. Their privacy policies are accessible from the links provided.
5. How can users configure or disable cookies?
The User can manage their cookie preferences at any time through two complementary mechanisms:
a) From the settings panel provided by COLECTIN APP, S.L.
The Website includes a Cookie Preferences Centre, accessible from the initial banner and permanently from the footer, where the User can:
- Accept all cookies.
- Reject all non-essential cookies.
- Accept only certain categories (analytics).
- Withdraw previously given consent.
This panel meets the requirements of granularity, visual equality between options (accept / reject / configure) and revocation required by the applicable legislation and by the Cookie Guidelines of the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
b) From the browser settings
The User can also configure their browser to restrict, block or delete cookies that are already installed. The procedure varies depending on the browser used. Links to the official help pages of the main browsers are provided below:
Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Website, preventing, where applicable, the use of certain personalised functions or services.
6. Cookies exempt from consent
In accordance with Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE and with the guidelines of the data protection supervisory authorities, there are certain cookies that are exempt from the obligation to obtain the User's prior consent because they are considered technically necessary for the proper functioning of the Website.
These cookies are:
- Technical cookies: those that enable browsing of the Website and the use of the different options or services it offers, such as controlling traffic, identifying the session, remembering the elements that make up a form or using security features during browsing. In the case of Colectin, this category includes the cookie that records the User's own consent regarding cookies.
- Personalisation cookies (limited): those that make it possible to remember the User's preferences (such as language or browser type), provided they are selected by the User themselves and are not used for additional purposes.
These cookies are installed by default when accessing the Website and do not require the User's express consent, although their existence and purpose must be clearly disclosed, as is done in this Cookie Policy.
Any other cookie that does not meet these characteristics (analytics cookies such as PostHog) will require prior informed consent, managed through the corresponding settings panel. Until the User gives their consent, such cookies will not be installed on their device.
7. Retention of data collected by cookies
The personal data obtained through the use of cookies on the Colectin Website will be retained for a proportionate and limited period, according to the following guidelines:
a) Duration of the cookie on the User's device
Each cookie installed in the browser has a specific lifespan:
- Session: they are automatically deleted when the browser is closed.
- Persistent: they remain on the device for a set period, defined by the publisher or provider of the cookie.
The specific duration of each cookie is available in the “Which cookies do we use at Colectin?” section and in the settings panel.
b) Retention period of personal data derived from the use of cookies
The personal data processed through cookies (for example, browsing data, events and preferences) will be retained only for as long as strictly necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, and never for a period longer than 24 months, except where there is a legal obligation or legitimate retention requirement.
Once the purpose has been fulfilled or the period has expired, the data will be anonymised or securely deleted, unless the User gives new consent enabling additional use.
COLECTIN APP, S.L. applies an active data minimisation policy, avoiding the unnecessary or disproportionate collection of personal data through cookies and ensuring its use in accordance with the principles of the GDPR.
8. International transfers arising from the use of cookies
Some of the tools used on the Colectin Website are managed by providers that may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), which entails an international transfer of personal data. Specifically:
- PostHog Inc.: depending on the contracted service region, the data may be processed within or outside the EEA.
- Customer.io, Inc.: is headquartered in the United States and the data forwarded from PostHog may be processed in that country.
In these cases, COLECTIN APP, S.L. ensures that the transfers are carried out with full legal guarantees and in compliance with the provisions of Chapter V of the GDPR, through one or more of the following safeguards:
- An adequacy decision by the European Commission regarding the destination country (Art. 45 GDPR), where applicable (for example, the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for adhering entities).
- The signing of standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission (Art. 46.2.c GDPR).
- Additional contractual commitments and privacy risk assessments, in compliance with the Schrems II case law.
The User can obtain additional information about the safeguards applied by contacting tech@colectin.com.
9. Acceptance, configuration and withdrawal of consent
The use of non-essential cookies on the Colectin Website requires the express, informed and verifiable consent of the User, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
a) Initial acceptance and configuration
When accessing the Website for the first time, the User will see a cookie banner that:
- Clearly informs about the existence and purpose of the cookies.
- Provides access to a granular settings panel.
- Allows the User to accept all cookies, reject all or configure by category, with the options presented at the same visual level.
Acceptance will only be valid if the User has carried out a clear affirmative action, such as clicking the “Accept all” button or ticking the desired categories in the panel. Until then, non-essential cookies (PostHog) will not be loaded onto the User's device.
b) Managing preferences at any time
The User can change or withdraw their consent at any time through the Cookie Preferences Centre, permanently accessible from the footer of the Website. This panel allows the User to:
- Review the active cookies.
- Change the authorised categories.
- Withdraw the consent given.
c) Configuration from the browser
Additionally, the User can manage cookies directly from their browser, including the possibility of deleting or blocking them completely. The procedure is described in the “How can users configure or disable cookies?” section.
The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on prior consent, nor does it prevent the use of the technical cookies necessary for the functioning of the Website.
10. Updates to the Cookie Policy
COLECTIN APP, S.L. reserves the right to modify, update or revise this Cookie Policy at any time, whether for legal, technical or operational reasons or as a result of changes in the cookies used on the Website.
When significant changes occur that affect consent or the purposes of processing, the User will be informed by:
- Updating the content on this page.
- A new request for consent, if necessary.
- A clear notification in the cookie banner or through the usual means.
The User is advised to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how COLECTIN APP, S.L. uses cookies and similar technologies.
